Not exactly the Times Square New Year's ball, but it worked.

So, is 2010 being calling "twenty-ten" or "two-thousand-ten"?

Personally, I'd lean toward "twenty-ten" for several reasons:

1. It only makes sense...after evolving from the 1900's and calling it "nineteen eighty-nine", for example.

2. If Jesus hasn't returned yet, we could get to 2020 and call it "twenty-twenty".

3. If we stuck with "two-thousand", 2017 would have six syllables, and people would be tripping over their tongues.

4. "Twenty-hundred ten" just sounds ridiculous.
