iPad

My reaction to Apple's sparkly new iPad?

I think it's a glorified iPod/iPhone. It does everything an iPod Touch does, removes the phone capabilities of the iPhone but adds the basics of a laptop with no camera. If a laptop requires a backpack or briefcase for travel, and an iPhone requires a pocket, the iPad needs a purse.....or..."man bag".

Realistically, it's Apple's answer to the NetBook movement as well as Amazon's Kindle 2. They just vamped it up a bit to do anything everyone else is doing...and do it better (looking).

At the same time, you can't strap it to your arm and go for a jog.

But it certainly keeps us cascading toward a Star Trek era.

Overall, not too exciting...and I don't plan on owning one.

I'd rather pair my MacBook Pro with an iPhone.

PV Christmas Star/Cross UNPLUGGED

The star from Christmas...

...simply built with steel framing and Christmas lights zip-tied to the steel.

Not exactly the Times Square New Year's ball, but it worked.
